Palace Playland, New England’s only beachfront amusement park, packs more than 30 rides and games into about five acres. Here you’ll find bumper cars, roller coasters, a fun house, a Ferris wheel, an enormous water slide, and a 24,000-foot arcade with more than 200 games. The midway is full of attractions as well, such as old-time photos, games of skill and palm readers, and, if you stay late on Thursdays, a free fireworks show beginning at 9:45 p.m. The highlight of Palace Playland might be the Sunwheel, a 75-foot-high gondola that gives you a magnificent view of the area.
Admission to Palace Playland is free, but rides require tickets. Rides are divided into three main categories; kiddie rides, which are two tickets apiece; family rides, three or four tickets apiece; and coasters and thrill rides, three or four tickets apiece. Sign up for the Palace Playland Fun Club to be eligible for exclusive coupons and promotions.
